John Legend Is Now a Daddy

Chrissy Teigen and John Legend

Their baby girl is here! Chrissy Teigen and John Legend have welcomed their first child together. The couple welcomed a daughter on Thursday, April 14.
"She's here! Luna Simone Stephens, we are so in love with you!" Teigen captioned a photo on Instagram, which clocks their daughter's weight in at 6 pounds, 11 ounces. "And sleepy. Very sleepy."

The Sports Illustrated Swimsuit model, 30, announced in October that she and Legend, 37, were expecting. (One month earlier, she revealed that she was struggling with infertility.)
"As many of you know, we’ve been trying to have a baby for a while now. It hasn’t been easy, but we kept trying because we can’t wait to bring our first child into the world and grow our family," Teigen captioned an Instagram photo of the pair at the time. "We’re so excited that it’s finally happening. Thank you for all your love and well wishes. I look forward to all the belly touching!"
In February, the Cravings cookbook author revealed that she and Legend had selected their baby's sex through in vitro fertilization (IVF). Teigen responded to critics via Twitter, writing: "I am not mad at anyone's beliefs but I don't really actively seek out people to make them feel bad about their decisions either."
Despite the negativity, Teigen and Legend stayed upbeat about becoming first-time parents. In fact, the "All of Me" singer has already written new music about his baby girl. "There’s definitely songs that I’ve written about being a new father and thinking about what that means," Legend told Us Weekly at the AXE Collective + Crew Powered by SPIN at SXSW event in Austin, Texas, on March 16. "I think she’ll probably be a mix of us and I think that’ll be a good thing."
Legend also opened up about seeing a different side of Teigen during her pregnancy. "I think pregnancy in itself is a beautiful thing and it’s an exciting thing, and I think we’ve really enjoyed – or at least I’ve really enjoyed — seeing what her becoming a mother brings out in her. I think it’s beautiful," he said. "You start to evolve a bit when you know you have a new life that is growing inside you and you’re about to bring into the world."
