Biography of Nigerian Female Artist, Adokiye

Born Adokiye Ngozi Yvonne Kyrian to a staunch Roman Catholic family in Imo State, Oguta LGA and Okrika OguBolo in River State, Nigeria "ADOKIYE" as she is widely known is a singer and song writer whose musical style is deep rooted in the Afro-fusion/Highlife genre of music. 

 

The Caritas University graduate of Architecture department started her musical journey at an early age singing in church choir, was influenced by music icons such as Onyeka Onwenu, Aretha Franklin, King Sunny Ade, Lauryn Hill, Christie Essien Igbokwe and Bob Marley. 

During her university days she was a member of a minor musical group called the “MASE” comprising of four young talents whose first name alphabets were coined to get the name "MASE". Her exploits with the group contributed in exposing and sharpening her musical skills to a great extent which saw her gearing towards professional singing.

Currently her singles "GLORY" and  “JOMBOLO” ft Oritse Femi are testimonials to the fact that some people breath life into music. With her huge hunger for producing good music, she believes that through hard work and dedication she would some day be rated as one of the best African exports in music.

However for the talented and energetic artiste signed to 03 Media; singing and writing songs are not the only things that keeps Adokiye busy as she flexes her talent as an entrepreneur by mastering the art of marketing and also enjoys empowering the less privileged from all works of life. In her words, 'I've been on the charity movement since high school with any little thing I have....I enjoy taking it out to share with less privileged'

With an unflinching love for Nigerian kind of music Adokiye who adores musicians like 2face Idibia, Wizkid and Rihanna (whom she dreams of working with some day) says, 'I wanna do music for the rest of my life' a die-hard assertion and belief for her.

She also loves travelling for vacations, making people laugh and has natural acting skills.
